So occasionally when we are homeschooling, the wiggleworms visit (not to be confused with The Wiggles, they are in the Barney catergory- not allowed in our home!). When the wiggleworms come we have learned that it's best to get them out rather than try to ignore them. I have a new weapon against those pesky wiggleworms- Groove Kid Nation "Music in Motion." This CD is filled with 10 cool kid's songs that kids (especially toddlers and preschoolers) can get up and shake a leg to. The music is not annoying but fun and upbeat. The familiar lyrics will even have mommies singing along!
These songs are fun, have a great beat, and they are educational too! The songs incorporate instrument identification. Your child can begin to learn the difference between a drum sound and a bass. There are also movement instructions in different places to keep your little one in motion. The songs are mostly original with some familiar lyrics sprinkled through out. Your child will be grooving in no time! We used this a few times last week when the wiggleworms snuck up on us and Apple and Speedy loved it! I liked that it was a mini music lesson and got a little energy out so they could focus again.
You don't just get the CD, you also get a 10 page illustrated booklet so your kids can "meet" the characters from the songs. They look just like Apple & Speedy, don't they! You can also visit
Groovekidnation.com for even more resources like listen and learn instruments, lyric finders, and other info you can use with your little ones. You can purchase the CD on the website and hear the songs for a sample. "Music in Motion" is a great CD for your little ones. If you homeschool, I totally recommend it to combat those pesky wiggleworms!
