Working It Out
What is your struggle? Your personality trait that you wish you could change? Is it anger? That's mine. Always has been. I've prayed over my anger too many times to count. Anger is my go-to feeling. I want that to change. I've done studies on anger and calming techniques before but I haven't found anything that has been really helpful. I'm so glad I found The Anger Workbook.
I expected this to be a Bible study format and I suppose it could be used as one but honestly it works great as a private study. It is very interactive, not just a bunch of reading, but instead it has sections of reading followed by questions that will really help you delve into your personal anger issues. The very first chapter blew me away. I've been aware of my anger issue for some time but chapter 1 points out a list of anger issues that we normally wouldn't consider. Due to that in depth list, I would encourage everyone to take a look at this workbook, even if you don't consider yourself an angry person. I'm ready to take deep breaths and work my way through this whole workbook. I hope I will be a better person for it.
The Bible verses used throughout the lessons give a peace and sense of calm to the subject. Only God can deliver us from these sins that plague us but we are to always be seeking Him and His will for our lives. That can only happen if we constantly seek His plan for us. His plans always embrace the fruits of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. No anger in that list!
