We had a fun and busy week! It was our first school break week. We do a schedule about 5 weeks on and one week off. Of course homeschoolers are always learning so we took a fun field trip with a local group this week.
Our trip was to a nearby state park. It tied in with the state history we are learning. It also has loose ties to a book we are reading aloud right now. Of course there was plenty to connect to our Botany lessons too! We took a hike, went out in paddle boats, and played on the playground. It was a super successful field trip!
Monday was a holiday, and we celebrated with family at our house. It was a wonderful day to rest from our labor and enjoy a cookout and some card games. At the end we were all full and the kids were filthy so it was a good day.
I like to use these breaks to catch up on housework and blog business, but I didn't get much of that done this week. I'm not too concerned. There's always time to catch up later.
Today is the first really cool morning we've had. I'm looking forward to soccer and baseball games today and enjoying the lower temps. It now truly feels as though summer has come to an end. The calendar is already filling up with items as we amble towards the holidays.
Did you have a good week? Have you taken any field trips this semester?
