A Story for All Ages #TheBiggestStory #FlyBy

I recently received The Biggest Story on audiobook and DVD. Both were sent to me for review. Kevin DeYoung is the author of The Biggest Story. The goal of this father of 6 was to connect the garden of Eden to Christ's death and to the new heaven and new earth.

The audiobook version of The Biggest Story is narrated by the author. It is just under 30 minutes long and divided into 10 chapters. It includes a colorful 2 sided poster. The story is very much an overview of the stories from the Bible. Only so much of the 66 books can be condensed into 30 minutes but that's the attempt here. An overview of the whole big story. We njoy listening to audiobooks in the car, and this was no exception!

The DVD is also approximately 30 minutes long. It includes a different 2 sided poster inside. The video tells the same 10 chapter story with lots of colorful video illustrations. The images focus mainly on nature and God's creation. The video is fast moving and will definitely keep one's attention!

The story includes a little humor and a lot of Bible history. There were a couple of things said that the children, and I looked up in the Bible to clarify exactly how it was stated. That's something we do often when reading books or watching shows on the Bible. It's important to always refer to God's Word for the original stories.

The story includes Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Abraham and Sarah, David, Soloman, and more. Since the length is so short, this would be a video that would be great for a Sunday School class or Wednesday night activity. It would also be helpful in situations with children who might be very unfamiliar with the Bible. The method of presenting God's story is apprealing to children.

  1. We don't listen to audiobooks in the car. We like to listen to Seeds Family Music, which is really, really well done Bible verse songs.

  11. Currently, we don't listen to audio books in the car. However, I would like to start doing so to encourage a greater use of imagination and a conversation piece.
