We've had a few days that weren't oppressively hot here in TN so now we can pretend fall is on its way. While it isn't quite turkey time yet, we have started putting holiday plans on the calendar for the next few months. I love fall and Thanksgiving and Christmas time!
It seems like just the right time to tell you about a cute turkey boardbook I received for review. One Big Turkey was written and illustrated by Anne Vittur Kennedy. A friend has her own sweet little turkey on the way so this book is going in his little welcome to the world gift bag. This story tells about animals in nature. The animals are in groups of one, two, three, etc. The groups go up to the number 10. What a great way to introduce numbers to a toddler while reading a fun story.
The colorful illustrations enhance the turkey's adventures as he sees things like, "Six fish are racing! Who's the fastest in the creek?". The listener will encounter mice, an owl, and even a squirrel. The ending includes a sweet little prayer for food, friends, and family.
You can see a preview of One Big Turkey here. I have one copy to giveaway to a reader. Enter via the Giveaway Tools widget for your chance to win a copy for your turkey!
